Aimee Helen Koch: Grave Gardens
>October 4-December 30, 2007
Grave Gardens is the culmination of a residency spent in Paris during the fall and winter of 2005. Photographing the tombs in the famed Père Lachaise cemetery, Koch reveals the juxtaposition of real and artificial flowers left for the dead with the consequent decay and growth that stems from them. This ambiguity spans the theme of the exhibition creating a metaphor for the circuition and evolution of life.
