EXPERIENTIAL TOURS

Join the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia to experience contemporary art through the senses of sound and touch. Visitors have the opportunity to partake in activities specifically designed to accommodate the visually impaired, including a staff-led tour with verbal translation, acoustic & tactile elements. Tours are available for adults as well as children.
Contributing to this unique program are works from fall 2010 exhibiting artists Heidi Fowler,
John R.G. Roth, and (weather permitting) pieces in the outdoor sculpture garden.

This experience goes beyond a normal group tour--we provide you with a primer on contemporary art before we engage in an interactive tour with a gallery teacher, followed by a hands-on art activity.
This close to the ocean, inspiration rises like the tide. Experience The Great Create, starting with a visit to our current exhibitions. After a mind-opening tour, you'll have a new appreciation of contemporary art and its impact on our lives today. Then you'll get hands-on and connect with your own creativity in a travel journal workshop! Perfect for families, children or adults.
