Social Studies, Science and Math

grade 1          grade 2          grade 3         grade 4          grade 5          trunk programs

INTRODUCTION:
The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia is pleased to offer 11 outstanding Standards of Learning (SOL)-based programs for the 2007-2008 school year.

CAC Outreach Educators visit the classroom to present upbeat lessons and hands-on activities which integrate the visual arts with science, social studies, language arts and math, for one hour of fast-moving, age appropriate, educational fun.*

SCHEDULING:
Please see individual descriptions for scheduling information. Pre-visit materials are submitted to teachers prior to school visit. Teachers and administrators are encouraged to book early for best dates. Participating schools must register for a minimum of two back-to-back classroom visits per desired outreach program.

COST:
Costs range from $35 to $105 dependent on program choice. See individual descriptions for cost information. Fees are due no later than seven days following program completion.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Outreach programs are in high demand with a long waiting list for all programs. In the event of a cancellation, we respectfully ask you to notify your specified outreach educator via email at least one month prior to your scheduled class date(s). This will allow appropriate time for CAC to contact another school and distribute pre-visit materials, thus affording their students the opportunity to participate.

* Please note: the Move-It! program is 90 minutes in length.
