Teen Apprenticeship Program
The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia is proud to present the Teen Apprenticeship Program!
The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia’s (CAC) Teen Apprenticeship Program (TAP) is a unique opportunity for 10-15 high school students to learn about contemporary art, CAC, and related careers in the arts. Apprentices gain hands-on work experience while meeting and working with artists and museum professionals.
Program Activities
TAP consists of weekly sessions throughout the spring. Initial sessions provide an introduction to the Museum, behind-the-scenes operations, and Museum staff. Subsequent sessions focus on current CAC exhibitions, college and career preparation, and other topics and projects.
During their time at CAC, apprentices may also work directly with CAC staff in various departments on specific projects and events. This aspect of the apprenticeship introduces participants to a full range of Museum activities and issues. Apprentices also receive CAC perks for their efforts.
